A while back someone put this story on the face book in Urdu language which inspired me to write this blog, so I will try to translate it. Since there was no name of the author so I will quote it as author unknown.
And I “Quote”
“One day a teacher told his students, that they should get ready for an exam. He gave them each a paper which had some questions. When all students got the paper, he said to flip the paper and whatever is on the back of the page write whatever you can about it. The students were surprised because nothing was written on the other side of the paper, but there was a black dot in the middle of the paper.
Students were confused because they were not ready for this hard to understand exam but they did the best they could. When all the papers were returned to the teacher, he read out loud all the papers to the class. Every student had tried to explain whatever they could, about the black dot. After all the papers were read the teacher started to explain to the silent class. He said I am not going to give any grade on it but I wanted to give you something to think about. Non of you wrote anything about the white part of the paper, everyone was focused on the dot.
In real life we all focus on the black things like dot as well.
This life is a gift of God to all of us, with love and looking after each other there are several reasons to be happy, but we only focus on the black dots. For instance health problems, poverty, bad relationships or unfulfilled expectations of friends etc. In front of the gifts of life, these black dots have no value, but they can have the power to pollute our minds. Look at life by taking your eyes off, of these black dots, appreciate every moment and blessings of your life. Be happy, distribute and suggest happiness.” End Quote.
Profound wisdom yet so easily laid out in simplest words. I am taking it to the next level because I think God has to take physical form in order to be physically helpful to the ordinary human individual. The people whom believe in God they believe all the universe and trillions of galaxies were created by God yet they ignore the importance of the human individual to the point that human individual loses his/her self respect. The importance of the human individual can be recognized by looking at the dead planets and even our ghost towns and the dead spots right here on the planet earth.
In answering to someone’s prayers, human individual becomes an integral part of God’s picture, but collectively we still don’t, don’t want to see, accept, acknowledge or even try to understand the importance and responsibilities of human individual. The reasons are politically charged religions and the promotion of sense of belonging which has been, is and will be hell bent to make the individual insignificant.
Sure God exists but how the existence carry’s on and becomes useful to the human individual and the humanity as a whole? To find the answers to this, it is the personal responsibility of the individual to dig within, rather than following blindly whatever we have been taught, told or passed on by our belonging ancestors.
If an individual is playing a role in God’s work, then why don’t we want to accept and understand that? The answer is not in the spirituality, because as a group we use our politics to use God. Since the individual is blinded by the political strength of the sense of belonging as well, he/she can’t see clearly, so the problem is not the belonging group it is within the individual’s personal belief system.
When you stray from the spirituality and become a follower of the political arm of the belonging religion you don’t want to question any knowledge even if it does not make sense, because you have been told that these words are God’s words. I believe human being as an individual and collectively as a humanity thus God is an evolving entity, and the proof is in the pudding just look around, where we were, where we are today and where we are going?. Nothing is same except the sense of belonging related religious extreme and nationalism, people have been and are still killing each other in the name of their ancestral knowledge.
I believe, if you believe in God without a doubt, you accept and continue believing in God’s will, regardless, not whenever it fits politically and God forbid you stop harshly punishing people as God’s will and not to listen to the Mullahs or the Priests.
If you believe in evolution equally, in all departments of life, logically the existing knowledge becomes a stepping stone for our future, and yes even if it is related to our religions. It has been that way from the beginning, yet politics of religions, is still able to get us to kill each other over it. It is just because we start to believe in our religious knowledge egotistically and we separate ourselves from God and humanity. We don’t accept the problems as black dots on the back of the test page we try to fix everything with our religious knowledge even if it is related with the internet or satellites. Solving our problems to the perfection is a personal problem related with the sense of belonging which should be a controllable thing for a mortal individual but somehow the individual would rather lose health and even life over it. If seeking perfection is a habit for you, you need to make sure that the black dot stays as a black dot and it does not become a black hole which has the power to suck the life out of an individual’s life.
As a mortal being you just can’t afford to sacrifice happiness over something you are going to leave behind. When you make a dot into a black hole you are being self destructive, you have a duty to take charge and become a CEO of your life, so you can rule all the departments including the sense of belonging and religious beliefs. The half knowledge of any kind is a dangerous thing for the individual. It does, not only ruin you mentally and spiritually, it has the potential to rob you of happiness and especially as a mortal you just can’t afford to lose spiritual health as well, and without these two nothing is successful and yes even if it is your religious belief.
Spirituality is a reality of God, whom exists regardless of the political boundaries, whether they are related with the nationalism or the religions. Human being as an individual is the cause an effect of every thing good and bad is done in the nature of living, but he/she can’t even move a finger or even breath without the help of the nature as well. For instance oxygen is not in anyone’s control and ordinarily nothing gets done by the human being, if he/she is dead, so God’s work is done by the living human beings, since we are an evolving entity our knowledge is constantly changing, that is why people have different paths and belief systems and even in the same religions we have sects.
Some time we want to stay on the same path because of our personal insecurities, while the changes are coming from God, so the discussion of how much say do we really have, begins. It is too easy and simple to say that God does not exist, so some don’t want to strain their brains, yet as a mortal individual its our duty to figure it out for ourselves, how to live this temporary life with some happiness and contentment. Personally I believe that can’t be done without having a belief system. A belief system helps us to know the balance and responsibility to reciprocate during our temporary visit, if you take on too much you can’t be a good CEO. This how much can be confusing, so don’t make your dot into a black hole, because it will suck the life out of you regardless of your belief system. For instance cultural traditions, trends, customs, and even religious duties have the potential to rob you, of happiness and contentment, instead of providing these precious jewels, so in the end of the day, the responsibilities of the mortal life is on the shoulders of the beholder.
Adding happiness and contentment is fundamentally crucial, to a mortal life so is making a black hole into a dot, thus it is your personal and spiritual responsibility to play fair. One day my son wanted to play cards game called war, but I was busy, so I suggested that I can show him how to play that game solo as well, if he wants to play. I said to play as left and right hand. When he started, he just wanted to win with one side, so I said remember both sides are yours so play fair.
How can you do that? Lets start it with valuing yourself first, because you are the one who is the CEO and computer runner, you are the one who is directly connected to the source you are the one who is the big kahuna. You have to learn that you are the one who is carrying both sides within yourself, and you are the one who has to balance. You have to reciprocate yet live this life for yourself equally and since it is a temporary time, you have to put some enjoyment in it while you are alive. If you live your whole life as a working bee in the end, God can say that I gave you the free will to do the justice, and if you did not do the justice to yourself it was your choice. Remember a group would always want you to be a subservient to it and would tell you to live like a hamster on a wheel in the cage, sure you can do that out of your blind sense of belonging but it will still be choice and you can play a role into making yourself into a self-esteem less entity.
Remember you are not a born sinner, nor an insignificant entity, so make sure you don’t become a sacrificial lamb for any tradition, custom or politically charged religious wars. You are kept alive so you can keep God alive, so every one is helped. Remember each and everyone is able to help fulfill each others prayers, and yes even if you get paid you are keeping God’s physical world running.
If you are a Mullah or a Priest sure you are helping others, but preaching prejudice and hatred can lead some one to commit a spiritual crime, which you can be responsible as well, so be the man or woman of God whom is for all mankind or humanity equally. Not for the chosen few, because this selection has nothing to do with spirituality, it is pure politics so preach all the spirituality you can and strain the politics out of your belief systems, and yes even if it says in Qur’an or Bible because we all have to evolve with our changing times and if we are killing each other, we are not really understanding the knowledge of spirituality or we just want to twist it politically to fit our belonging group’s political agenda.
Plain and simple we just can’t kill each other over a belief system because even God physically survives with the living human beings thus killing a functioning being whom is helping and doing the factual living work of God is against God’s will. Since we are an evolving entity our knowledge should evolve with time to keep God’s world working instead of destroying it. Collectively and individually we all have the duty to take our knowledge to the next level and turn our black holes of religious extreme, nationalism and racism into dots and look at the white page of spirituality, God and humanity as a whole.
