Disposal of the human bodies has always been connected with our religious rituals, traditions and customs. Some bury in cloth, in casket, some burn some may even go to the mountains to get eaten by the wild life. Why such a difference yet we all are human beings with the same carbon, genetics and connection to the humanity and God?
As child when we are born universally we are given a name and when we die the person who has the name dies. Does this mean as a living being we have a name and after we die a dead body is not called that name any more, it is called corpse or a dead body. It is because the soul is not there anymore. What happens to it or where does it go, is not the question to discus but what happens to the body is the question.
There is no creature on the face of the earth other than the human beings, which is not recycled. As human we not only, don’t recycle we actually own a piece of land long after we are dead. Yet we have living human homeless. Don’t you think there is a disconnect somewhere in our systems of living.
I believe we have to evolve as we face our modern problems, regardless of our traditions, customs or rituals we need to evolve with our changing times.
If you bury a dead body deep under the farmer’s land or deep into the forests we would be recycled by the nature.
Cremation may be easier and faster solution, but what about benefiting the coming generations and the earth by recycling, remember the fossil fuel we are still using to go around. Where do you think it came from? it is from the oil of plants and dead creatures recycling.
Having a grave to go to visit a loved one or keeping up with the religious rituals is one thing, but the fast changing realities of the world are an other. Emotional satisfaction for the immediate loved one is one thing yet a tomb stone dating few hundred or thousands of years old is an other. Should we stay and keep doing everything the way we have been doing for thousands of years or should we change with the needs of evolving times.
I believe in respecting our past, but I believe in evolving with the changing times even more. Sure talking about the dead loved one is a touchy and emotional subject but if you have living homeless yet a dead one who died hundreds of years ago have a piece of land is not a good situation for the society, nor it is ethical. Then what about our dead religious leaders and their tombs, should we change and destroy all that?
World has been evolving with certain speed, for some that speed is not fast enough and for some it is evolving too fast. It is not one or the other it is we just have to keep evolving in respectful manners. When something does not make sense and causing problem in our modern day life, it is time to move forward.
We have people fighting over the monuments erected in the past or changing streets or even team names because they are or have become offensive to some. We have inappropriate sexual behaviors out in the open and the standers have changed, the clear sign of social changes adopted by the mass population and fast enough to spin one’s head.
Living homelessness is a worse problem than our all kind of burial systems. Am I against the respect of the dead ones, absolutely not, but I would rather remember my loved one and give some money to the poor or feed the hungry in the name of my dead loved ones every year instead of going to the grave yard thinking and believing that they are there. This thinking and believing is related with our past knowledge yet the disintegrated dead body does not contain my loved one’s soul.
If you complain that dead bodies should not be buried under the farmers fields because of the fear of diseases. Just think where does our sewer system end up?. Our waste and God know what is in our real fertilizers.
People use to live thirty eight yeas of average age, today regardless of our wars and drug interactions average age has more than doubled. Our food is grown over our waste yet we are still evolving. If it is not clear enough to you listen to the scientists, they are predicting that average age is going to even rise further in the near future.
All this not happening on its own, without the human interventions we still be living in the caves and bush. The ideas of age extension are related to the human individual imagination. Sure God’s will is with the humanity but religions alone just can’t change your mortality, they can’t provide you the oxygen, they can’t stop the natural disasters other than praying for you nothing is done by any belief system.
From throwing virgins over the cliffs to standing against the life saving blood transfusion to sending young people to kill and get killed in the name of God, is not adding years but going against it. Don’t get me wrong their teachings have brought us up from a savage animal to human beings. My hats off to the spiritual side of every religion and what I have learned from my religion, but they have brought us back and forth with their politics. Their politics related damages out weighs all the good they have done to the humanity by putting cap on the human evolution or standing against it.
Scientific community has the similar history as well, drugs save lives, my hats off to them but they have been and still are killing us as well.
You can not go too far either way to count the knowledge as the most important aspect of humanity and put the importance of the living individual lower than the dead one. All religions are related with the human knowledge and non of them is as important as a living human individual who is a working hand of God, who gives physicality to spirituality.
Why our traditions, customs and religious rituals matter more than living beings? Hippocratic policies of religions and our scientific communities are so immanence that they put even God as non existent from both sides. Scientific community does not believe in God in spite of the knowledge, that the human brain is not used at full capacity yet.
Religious people play God’s role yet in the name of God. They punish, shun and kill others as well as their own. When you believe in God you, need to learn more not only about God’s will, your personal free will as well as your belonging groups politically tainted will. That is the only way you will be able to see the importance of love of humanity and other human individuals as yourself.
All human knowledge, whether it is scientific or religious is a guideline for us to be a good human being, but our sense of belonging has us believed otherwise. Always remember data is a data it can never become a computer or a computer runner and human being is not a data.
Personal sense of justice, the need for the equal human rights, love, compassion, forgiveness and the desire and ability to help the needy are the hard facts for the human individual.
They are your personal jewels to wear. If your guidelines take you away from your jewellery or forces you to strip off your God given jewellery, you have to learn more about the politics of the sense of belonging. Even if they promise you the world or heaven or scare you to death from hell, without your jewellery you may end up in hell in your living years for sure and after death, well it is your personal call to know what would God appreciate or not. Politics of your belonging groups or your personal spirituality.
Following your guidelines is okay as long as you are wearing your jewellery to make your choices.
Personally I believe our evolution with time is imperative, if any group hinders, blocks or stands against it, it is standing against God’s will, regardless of the belief system. Your personal spirituality should help you to be a good person regardless of your belonging groups. Whether you are a scientist or a religious fanatic, you have to know that your jewellery is related with the spiritual side of you. In the end of the day it is the politics of sense of belonging tells you, that your good is bad and their bad is good.
A scientist can believe in the knowledge and kill millions of people for his belonging group is political, or a religious extremist can kill or gets killed has nothing to do with the spirituality regardless of the heavenly promises of the belonging groups. Politics of the sense of belonging is the main culprit of our wars related killings. Not only it is non spiritual it goes against the personal justice related ethics as well, because you should not do to anyone what you don’t like done to yourself.
As human beings we all come with a built in personal free will and sense of justice but we are nurtured or installed with the politically discriminatory data of our belonging groups. If you use your God given free will and sense of justice, you will automatically learn to belong to humanity as a whole otherwise I am going this far to use the religious term you have sold your soul to the Devil yet in the name of God.
