From our history to modern day living, these what ifs have been part of human evolution. From the reasons behind the learning of the ancient martial arts, to desire to own the guns, to the success full businesses related to all kind of insurances, to the desire to migrating to western world, to saving and investing into the financial security for the future, to building all kind of war weapons including chemical and nuclear bombs to even praying to God for the spot in the heaven, our education systems are designed to teach us to be fearful and prepared for the unknown of the future.
From individual to collectively, if human beings rob other human beings, (which we have been doing since the beginning of our awareness), is the cause of our lack of trust, and without the trust we all should know that potentially we can destroy the humanity just over the what ifs.
We are taught about these so called disasters of the unknown and the what ifs of our individual life. We are taught that they are controllable by the individual him/herself yet the individual can be helpless when the wars break out or natural disaster can cripple the whole communities. The power of the individual is tested with personal circumstances as well so the positive belief system is required. These calculated disasters may or may not happen, so for sure this education is not scientifically proven, but it appears to be the most common in the whole world regardless of the differences in the belief systems.
From the market crash to personal financial crisis to unexpected health crisis, our wars and related crisis speak loud and clear around us all the time, but we individually feel insecure regardless of the belief systems or the levels we believe in our belief systems.
The unknown remains unknown regardless of education, people seek the advice from the financial planers, to psychics to horoscope and everything in between, just to find out there is nothing fool proof. Most of us are taught to save for the rainy days even if you have to live in a sacrifice mode, so the savings began but regardless of all the education and savings of the people in all over the world, it turns out most people live in poverty whether it is financial or related with happiness and contentment. My brother sent me a picture where kids are playing pool on a pool table made with the clay since there is no name written so I will quote as the author unknown.
“Quote” “The happiest people Don’t have the Best of Everything, They Make The Best of Everything.” End quote.
The biggest problem for the individual, is the mortality, which can not allow us to keep life in the right numbers percentage and order, there is no two plus two equal four as you age. If you develop the habit of total control and two plus two equal four, you may have a rough ride ahead of you, and it will be you yourself who would rob happiness by choice from your life.
The side effects of the living systems show up in later years of the individual’s life. If you learn to live in the control mode all the time, you eventually will have to deal with the side effects as an individual as well because this life is your personal project. If you look at it, with your personal logic you are the CEO of it, and yes you are not an extension of a nation, race, gender or an ideology because your umbilical cord had been cut the day you were born.
From the lack of trust in your own belief system or God, to stress and related problems are clear signs of the side effects of the modern day living. Are we better off to live that way as an individual?
This question should be asked by all of us to ourselves, because after all we as an individual are a mortal with a limited time, yet our societies and the people in them go on living well beyond our lives.
A mortal individual should focus on the collection of happiness and seek contentment in everyday life. Since happiness and contentment is our individual responsibility, we have to learn to know what education or kind of knowledge works against the collection of these two. If you rob your personal happiness and contentment because of the knowledge you have attained from your upbringing, you have to come up with your personal strategies to live a successful mortal life.
If you live in what ifs you will certainly develop a habit of insecurity which will lead you to have control related issues.
Control as a habit can be dangerous for the mortal individual because it inspires you to live a mortal life as an immortal. The core problem and a reason for one to be unhappy by choice.
As a society we preach and enforce our living systems to all belonging individuals and even other societies as well regardless of the problems we face in our own societies. For example all religions suggest that God would reward the people whom spread the word and try to recruit people from the other societies. Today democratic societies want to spread the democracy to all societies even it has not worked very well with in the democratic societies.
Since our living systems are consisting of our traditions, customs, and belief systems, we are taught to believe our systems of living are better than all others especially when it comes to our religions, we as an individual even disregard the personal mortality just because of the strong sense of belonging. Yet as an individual, it should be essential for us to have an interest in the individual health in all departments of our lives, because in the end of the day the healthy individual is responsible for the personal happiness and is the life and blood of the belonging society.
If the things go wrong, not only the individual suffers, the whole society gets burdened by the suffering individual. From the market crash to our wars, we all lose with the side effects of our wrong thinking, no human knowledge should be regarded as the ultimate because we are in the evolutionary process. We make mistakes and learn from our experiences, at least I think it should be that way.
Since I am not a specialist in providing or even talking a financial strategies I am not going to even try to suggest anything related with finance, but I will talk about logical living with the mortality and personal responsibilities as an individual. If one prepares all his/her life for rainy days and what ifs, and develops a habit of saving and lives in poverty by choice and dies in the process of stress related health problems or even lives with the mental health issues, I believe it is a preventable loss for both the individual and the society simultaneously.
So do I believe in not to follow the social norms, no I just believe that the money we make is to live this mortal life, it is not about having more to live poorly, it is to live this life accordingly. If you have fears of the what ifs keep checking in on yourself, just in case you go too far and lose your happiness over your what ifs.
