Sometimes people use the term “pinching themselves” to feel that they are not dreaming. I do not consider myself an extremist of any ideology, but I lean towards spirituality and a related trust in nature, or you could say God. When I see people fighting over their beliefs, I want to give them this metaphorical pin so they can poke themselves. This pin would remind them whenever they put their metaphorical realities above the physical realities of others and even their own. Ideally, we should all carry this metaphorical pin to remind us of the differences between metaphorical and physical realities, especially while we are in our physical and living years.
I usually call this “flying in” or “looking high in the sky” and constantly mismanaging or screwing up our physical world with intentions. If we can all come down to earth and understand that our physical realities are more important than our metaphorical world, we will remember that even God needs to be expressed physically to be meaningful. When it comes to our mortal nature, we should prioritize our realities and priorities. Instead of going all gung-ho about what comes after our living years, we should develop a logical understanding of being human. Things can change rapidly if we can metaphorically poke ourselves with the reality of someone’s hungry stomach. That alone should be enough to trigger compassion in us. However, the politics of our belonging have us dancing like non-human or non-spiritual puppets, as if human beings don’t carry their personal atom of autonomy, have free will and personal sense of justice, or even a sense of individual responsibility.
If you find yourself getting worked up by the inspiring speeches of your political or religious leaders, you need this metaphorical pin to remind you that you carry your own atom of autonomy. This autonomy allows you to use your free will and personal sense of justice, making you a lot more responsible for your individual actions than you are taught to believe. This metaphorical pin can help you poke yourself every time you feel the urge to blindly follow your political group, especially if it involves hurting someone. Remember the first spiritual principle of not doing to anyone what you don’t want done to you or your loved ones. This principle should be your spiritual gauge to override your politics. Constantly remind yourself to stay on your spiritual path, as you have been blessed with your own atom of autonomy and are responsible for lending your physicality to your belonging group. Logically, your belonging group cannot act physically if you don’t lend them your physicality. By nature, you are responsible for your actions, and you must understand the importance of yourself and all other human beings. We are all God’s working hands, and killing each other in the name of our belonging groups is like chopping off God’s working hands. Whether it is you or someone from your opposing group, everyone is a mortal being. Understanding the importance of physical life itself is essential. If you can override the politics of belonging, you should be able to prioritize your own and others’ physical realities over the metaphorical world preached to you. You can respect it as a reality, but you cannot make it a physical reality, so give it the name of metaphorical reality. You can still believe and follow, but not over someone’s physical reality. That means no killing for religious beliefs unless you can produce God in a living and physical form. If you have a statue of God and prefer that over someone’s life, anyone in that state of mind should be checked out. Unfortunately, we often put the politics of belonging above all and create politically influenced circumstances where people make the metaphorical world more important than the physical world. Remember, even God needs human physicality to be spiritually meaningful.
Look around and see what we have been doing to each other. If the reality of someone’s hungry stomach doesn’t trigger your compassion, you have been taught to ignore the importance of human physicality. With that politics, you have been taught to ignore spirituality, justice, and God. If you lack those basic spiritual principles that make us human, and those spiritual principles have been removed from our living years, where do we stand as humanity? Without our spiritual side, we stand in the lineup of other less-evolved creatures. Our reality is that we only stand apart and above not because of our genetics but because of our spiritual nature.
I don’t remember when, but on the Discovery Channel, someone mentioned that chimps and humans have a genetic difference of only 2%. I believe that 2% is all we need to be spiritual. However, if you remove that 2%, we lose spirituality along with our atom of autonomy. Without that, we would still be in the bush and cave times. Regardless of what I say about the importance of physicality, we still need to understand that 2% as well. Our metaphorical world is teaching us to evolve and become spiritually peaceful. That is great, but if it leads us to rob each other of our physical reality in the name of God or our metaphorical world, we have got it all wrong. The purpose of our metaphorical knowledge should be to make us evolve and live a better physical life, not only for ourselves but also for our fellow human beings.
Whether you agree with me or not, I want you to explore history and draw your own conclusions. If your political belonging trumps your spiritual side, you have some work to do at an individual level. Become the CEO of your life so you can use your ocean-like brain to make sense of things. A Godly order, like evolution, is a must for all human beings, especially at the individual level, so we can override our animal urges and political influences. Since spirituality is ingrained within all of us by our nature, denying it can be destructive for us individually and collectively. On top of that, it cannot be overridden, meaning we all have to evolve in all departments of life regardless of our oppressive group politics. If you are politically kept in the dark, you have to poke yourself regularly with this metaphorical pin to know human realities, whether they are physical, metaphorical, or in what era you are born and belong to.
